Geoffry Nijsmans

Hello, I’m Geoffry Nijsmans. I’m 26 years old and living in Antwerp  (Belgium). I work for Oger Fashion, it’s a Dutch fashion retailer. I’m responsible for the made to measure department in Oger Antwerp. Every day I’m trying to share what I love to do by creating my own style and showing this with the world.

Describe your first experience you have of wearing a suit.

A nice suit or combination is an easy way to show your own identity. I always loved to wear suits because it’s easy to combine and your always nicely dressed for any occasion.

Why did you start dressing up?

Since I was a little boy I loved the classic fashion. I always wanted to wear suits or nice combinations like in those old movies I watched with my grandma.
In particular the old gangster movies, but you know this already I guess.?

The single best outfit a man can invest into in your opinion?

The best investment for a good outfit depends on what’s your daily wearing. If you wear suits the best investment is a gray or blue suit combined with a cardigan and tie. Those suit colors are easy to combine and switch for a good classic total look. Also nice for the weekend with a good pair of sneakers and polo shirts for a more casual approach.

The single best advice you could give to any man?

If you like to wear suits and ties try to vary all the time. Colorful pocket squares, ties or scarfs make the total look completely different every time. It’s also more fun to try different looks and styles and gives you more self-confidence. Also, you going to find your own style, your own identity

The first thing that comes to your mind when you hear “self-improvement” is…

By constantly renewing combinations and looks throughout the seasons working with beautiful fabrics and products I’m able to improve my knowledge about fashion

The first thing you do in the morning is…

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I go for is a good warm cup of coffee. After I’m off to my walk-in closet to search for the look of the day.

What is the thing that keeps you motivated…

I love the classic style.

I always try to raise the bar as high as possible. Searching for the nicest details, good combinations and creating my own style. Playing with layers and fabrics to be different but still myself.

Who is the person you accept as your mentor?

I was a great fan of Cary Grant when I was little. He has an impeccable appearance. I always saw his movies with my grandma. The man was suited up to the top wearing his known trench coat. I loved the man’s style.

The most versatile garment you can think of?

For me is a gray or blue suit still the most versatile garment. The ideal colors for young and old. You can combine both easy. Classic with a tie or bow tie or with a nice pair of sneakers and a polo shirt. Also you can mix this suits. For example, grey trousers and blue jacket are still one of the most classic combination. Works every time.

Your favorite garment?

My favorite garment still is a nice shirt. I love wearing shirts. You can combine shirts very casual on a denim or classic on your suits with a nice tie. Thank you for this interview.

It’s was a pleasure and honor to do this.

All the best,

Geoffry Nijsmans
