3 Clothing Items Men Should Take Most Care Of

If you intend on looking sharp taking care of your clothes is what should be on your to-do list.

In other words, a lot of your garments should be taken care of in order to look good. Just giving your shoes a quick wipe with a wet rag is not enough, neither is hanging your nice suits on bad hangers. Investing some of your time and money into your wardrobe will ensure your clothes stay fresh-looking for longer and save you money in the long run. For example, if you love wearing nice suits, they shouldn’t be hung on a cheap $5 hanger from the convenience store. It’s better to go and buy a $20 wooden rack that will preserve your clothes and keep the shape of the clothes

1. Shoes

Shoes are considered to be one of the most expensive things you can buy to wear. Remove the factor that a brand name adds value to your shoes and you can still easily get a pair at the price tag of $500+. With this in mind, shoes should be taken care of. Investing a bit more money into a nicely made pair of leather shoes that might last you a lifetime not only saves money but also give the feel of timeless style and luxury.

Conditioning: Conditioning your shoes and more specifically how to is a broad topic. Spending some money on quality shoe trees and good leather conditioners are the basics you can cover. Spending an hour or two every Sunday morning to condition your shoes will keep their new look. Gently applying the conditioner on the previously cleaned shoe, with circular motions, will help the conditioner to get throughout the shoe. For the shoe trees, it’s helpful to know that handmade, specifically for the shoe trees are the best. However, it’s expensive and a lot of work. The best thing you can do is to always buy wooden made, not the plastic ones, and to make sure the wood doesn’t stretch the shoe too much, it should gently stretch it, just to keep it like it was when you bought it.

2. Suits

We all know that wearing good quality suits is not a cheap pleasure. Yes, they look good, but if you are in between sizes you should tailor your suit this further increasing the cost of buying one. Buying a suit right from the rack means that you are not certainly going to receive a nice wooden hanger with it. Most of the times are going to be a cheap plastic hanger. You can easily purchase a wooden hanger online. They are a bit pricey, but you buy them once and it’s for a lifetime.

Never, ever wash a suit in the washing machine. It will ruin the pads in the shoulders and the fabric will get all wrinkled. Instead, what you should do is giving your suit to a dry cleaner two times a month, but that depends on how often you wear it.

3. Belts

Belts are the line that separates your upper body from the bottom half. It creates a visual line and not only that it keeps your pants up, the belt serves visual purposes. This means that if your belt is all cracked, faded and with stretched holes you should change it.

The holes pretty much ruin the belt. There is no saving of it of the holes are stretched. But if they are fine, you haven’t gone trough some health transformations lately, then it’s an easy job to repair it. All you need is some shoe paint and leather conditioner. You know what to do, it’s the same as it is with the shoes.

These gentleman, are the three garments you should take most care of. Shirts are easily replaceable, and also pretty much anything else. Keep those three in god condition and it’s almost impossible not to look sharp.
