5 Ways to Wear a Light Colored Blazer

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned in a post that it’s a great idea to match the color of your tie to the seasons.

If you haven’t found out until now it’s a great way to blend in with the season and look more in place with the current weather. Although brown, burgundy and green look great in the Fall time, it might be better to switch them up when the temperatures rise and the nature around you come to life. Going for a lighter, and more vibrant color palette will make your outfit come to life.

However, there are some “do’s” and “don’t’s” that you should be careful about. Things can easily go out of control and this is an outfit you don’t want to rock. Too much vibrant colors will make the outfit look hideous and you don’t want this to happen. So, this week we’re going over 5 ways to wear a light colored blazer right.

First, what is a blazer?

A blazer is a stand alone jacket, that has no matching pants and it’s worn with stand alone pant’s. In today’s world it’s acceptable to wear a blazer with jeans and it’s a safe practice done by many men including me – yes, I love to wear my blazer in a combo with my trousers.

Most blazers come in navy blue, burgundy and black. But fashion brought to us different colored blazers, and I can’t say I’m not happy with this trend. I’m using the hell out of it! And, I’m not sure it’s a trend, because it’s known that Sicilian men have worn not matching pant’s and suit jackets for at least a hundred years and we all know how bold they are with their colors, making it not only a trend but a style statement that has been the secret weapon of stylish men all over the world.

Which colors to stick with?

Colors are the most important aspect. You should know how to separate the trendy from the stylish because a bright orange will never look as good as a light peach colored one. In other words, steer away from bright colors, go with muted and light colors that still make a statement.

Good colors to look for are light peach, light blue, white, mint green, light gray. The hard thing is to match it with your skin color. It’s said that if you have darker skin you should go with the more colored and bright ones with no hesitation. However if you have light colored skin, like myself, I personally stay away from the pale red and green. Those colors just don’t work, but they don’t work for me and it’s a personal preference you should definitely go and try for yourself and don’t be afraid to breaks the rules!
